Pixel Fold
Google has showcased concept foldables before, but will go to market with the Pixel Fold, a foldable device that uses a similar design format to the Samsung Fold, but with a 7.6-inch OLED foldable screen with a 6:5 aspect ratio and 2208x1840 resolution, while the 5.6-inch cover screen. When closed, Pixel Fold has a familiar smartphone silhouette that fits in the palm of your hand and slides into your pocket. Flip it open to reveal a 7.6-inch screen with a thinner profile than any other foldable phone in the market.
To fit into the Fold design, Google had to redesign standard Pixel components, such as camera, speakers, battery and haptics technology to fit, with a custom-built hinge that Google claims is not only the thinness on the market, but also the most durable.
When closed, the exterior screen access and respond to Messages, browse Chrome or use Google Call Assist features, like Direct My Call, Call Screen, Hold for Me and Clear Calling.
When fully open, the interior screen gives users all the benefits of a tablet for watching shows, reading a book, and playing games, or enjoy having space to get more things done. Taskbar enables easy switching between apps, while splitscreen mode enables multitasking with two apps side-by-side.
Pixel Fold has many Pixel camera experiences you’ve come to expect from a Pixel, with Ruper Res Zoom with 5x optical zoom, Real Tone, Night Sight and Portrait photography along with pro-level modeslike 10-bit HDR video.
