iOS Update 16.1.2 Fixes Crash Detection 🚗

According to the update list, iOS 16.1.2 brings optimizations to Crash Detection and improves compatibility with network providers. Truly a smashing update. (Yes. that pun!)

Here’s a screenshot from my iPhone 14 Pro so this news article looks more legit.

Crash Detection is meant to alert emergency services if and when your iPhone 14 Pro detects if you have been in a car accident. But folks were complaining that even roller coaster rides (and other intensive rides that this writer can’t stomach) could trigger Crash Detection. Yeah nah that’s not good. I don’t want my family to know if I’m visiting Universal Studios with my secret girlfriend. I’m weak-willed so I get cajoled to get on rides that make me puke. That’s more embarrasing than having a secret girlfriend, so I’m glad Apple’s possibly fixing that with the update. And I’m glad that readers of this article can keep a secret.

iOS 16.1.2 Apple has not released more info about what iOS 16.1.2 does on the security front, but I feel safe knowing that it’s Apple who knows everything about me and not Mark Zuckerborg.
